Breaking News: HUD LEARN Presents - Online Course Evaluations in HUD Virtual University (HVU)

HUDLEARN is pleased to announce that, effective June 3, 2013, voluntary course evaluations will be available for all online courses in HVU. Important Exception: Evaluations will NOT be necessary for the two (2) HUD-wide mandatory training courses. From the effective date forward, any employee that completes an online course in HVU is strongly encouraged to complete an evaluation that will be automatically assigned to the employee’s “To-Do” list in HVU. The evaluation will remain on the “To-Do” list for seven (7) calendar days after course completion and generally takes about five (5) minutes to complete.

This data is being collected to analyze the effectiveness of the courses in our online catalog. The information can also be used by employees in making decisions on their future course selections. We thank you in advance for providing invaluable feedback which will allow us to better meet your learning needs. – HUDLEARN@hud.gov

Welcome to HUD Virtual University (HVU). HVU offers HUD employees access to almost 3,000 online courses from the SkillSoft courseware library as well as custom courses developed by HUD program organizations. HUD employees have free access to government, business, and IT courses online 24 hours a day, 7 days per week from HUD’s intranet and the internet. HVU is linked to the Department’s enterprise HR system and receives up-to-date employee profile data from HIHRTS on a nightly basis. HVU also serves as the Department’s pathway to compliance for federally mandated training such as IT Security Awareness, No FEAR Act, and Sexual Harassment. In addition, given that HVU is the central training database for the Department, each employee is able to access their own training history (transcript) using a few keystrokes.

New Users – Getting Started.

Step-2: Enter your Password

For all new users, your temporary password is “HUD12345” (“HUD” must be uppercase). Once logged in, you will be asked to enter a new password that you must remember.

Step-3: Click the “Sign In” button to proceed to the HVU Welcome Page.
